Approximately 1,500 police officers have been assigned to manage traffic for the 76th National Independence Day celebration.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Indika Hapugoda said that a total of 4,000 officers have been deployed for various security and related responsibilities.
In addition, DIG Hapugoda announced the implementation of a special traffic plan in Colombo for today and tomorrow in light of the National Independence Day which is to be held in Galle Face Green on Sunday (04).
