The Department of Examinations has initiated the evaluation process for the 2023 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination. The Ministry of Education, in a media release today, announced that paper-marking staff, including chief evaluators, will receive the same compensation as last year for their crucial role in assessing the examination scripts.
Conducted from January 4 to 31 at over 2,300 examination centers, the highly competitive national test saw a participation of 346,976 candidates. Among them, 281,445 were school applicants, while 65,531 were private applicants.
Despite the smooth conduct of most subjects, today marks a notable exception for candidates who are re-sitting the Agricultural Science question papers I and II. The decision to cancel and reschedule the papers came after the revelation of leaked questions, leading to the annulment of the initial test held in January. This unforeseen challenge adds an extra layer of complexity to the examination process, underscoring the importance of maintaining the integrity of the evaluation system.
