The Colombo High Court has granted permission to Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila to travel to China for PhD studies.
Gammanpila, whose passport had been impounded by the court due to allegations of misappropriating Rs. 20 million in a fraudulent share transaction dating back to 2000, petitioned the Colombo High Court to temporarily lift the travel ban.
The court heard that Gammanpila intends to travel to China intermittently to pursue his PhD studies.
