CID arrests social media activist Piyath Nikeshala

The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested social media activist Piyath Nikeshala.

Nikeshala was summoned by the CID for questioning regarding the publication of a recorded telephone conversation between Public Security Minister Tiran Alles and another social media activist on his YouTube channel. 

Piyath Nikeshala was also arrested on June last year over the live streaming on social media on the incident of the burning of President Ranil Wickremesinghe's private residence in Colombo on July 09, 2022.
