Vishwa Buddha further remanded

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered to further remand in custody the saffron-robed monk, claiming to be ‘Vishwa Buddha’, until February 02.

The President's Counsel who appeared in the court on behalf of the Sri Lankan Ramayana Sector requested that the suspect's monkhood has now been revoked so that he should no longer be considered as a monk.

Accordingly, the Colombo Chief Magistrate did not cancel the suspect's bail in relation to this case and remanded him further until February 02 in relation to the case pending in the Gangodawila Magistrate's Court.

The suspect, who was out on bail, was re-arrested on Tuesday morning by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over breach of bail conditions.
