Somali pirates have reportedly hijacked a Sri Lankan multi-day fishing trawler in the Arabian Sea, the Fisheries Department said.
The trawler, named "Lorenzo Son 04," was carrying six fishermen and departed from Dikowita fishing harbor on the 12th this month.
The abduction occurred approximately 1160 nautical miles away from the Sri Lankan coast.
Authorities are engaged in efforts to rescue the abducted fishermen.
