Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe issued red warrants in English for the arrest of four suspects allegedly aiding and abetting the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization. The warrants were requested by the Terrorists Investigation Division (TID) and target individuals currently abroad.
The suspects, including a father and son, along with two others, are believed to be residing in Kaleliya and Kalagedi Henawala areas but are currently located in Australia and Syria. The TID initiated a case against 16 suspects in 2021, resulting in red warrants being issued for four individuals.
The named suspects, Ahmed Khalil Luqman Talib, Ahman Luqmand Haleen, Abdul Bahin Mohammad Lebbe, and Mohammad Pahir Ripon, are reported residents of Australia.
