A 38-year-old man from Kekirawa has been arrested for allegedly raping his unmarried aunt, an elderly woman who was caring for her ailing brother.
The victim informed the police that she had been subjected to rape under the threat of death for approximately two years.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday morning and is scheduled to be presented before the Kekirawa Magistrate's Court.
The Women and Children's Bureau of Kekirawa Police is conducting additional investigations.
