The Hakmana police have taken into custody a motorcycle and a van suspected to have been used in the murder of five people in Beliatta.
The motorcycle and the van were discovered during the questioning of the suspect arrested in connection with the incident.
The police suspect that the motorcycle was used to dispose of the two T-56 type firearms involved in the shooting and that the van was prepared for the suspects' use to escape after the crime.
The main suspect in custody, Saman Kumara, is being interrogated under detention orders, and further investigations are underway regarding the incident.
Five individuals, including the leader of the Ape Jana Bala Party, Saman Perera, were killed when a group arrived in a jeep and opened fire at them in Beliatta.
