Jagath Priyankara from the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna is set to assume the seat left vacant by the untimely death of State Minister Sanath Nishantha.
As the district leader of the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna led by Wimal Weerawansa, who is in the Opposition along with other MPs from the party, Priyankara's appointment will result in the government losing a seat.
