A number of detainees at the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Center broke free during a confrontation last night (January 24).
The Commissioner General of Rehabilitation said that around 40 inmates managed to escape during the altercation.
Authorities are working to regain control of the situation, and the police have implemented measures to address the incident.
This event follows a previous clash between two groups of detainees at the rehabilitation center on January 12, resulting in the escape of approximately 60 inmates.
