The vehicle suspected to have been involved in the Beliatta shooting, where five individuals lost their lives, has been located near Vidyaloka Pirivena in Galle.
On Tuesday (Jan. 23), a group in a jeep opened fire at a Defender near the Beliatta Interchange of the Southern Expressway. Four individuals were killed on the spot, and another person inside the Defender, suffering critical gunshot wounds, was rushed to Tangalle Hospital but succumbed to injuries shortly after.
CCTV footages revealed that a group in a jeep with the number plate 65-2615 was involved in the shooting.
