The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested the saffron-robed monk, calling himself ‘Vishwa Buddha’ again in Kalagedihena.

In December last year, the the cybercrimes unit of the CID also arrested the monk for allegedly insulting Buddhism on social media.  He was later released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis.

Earlier, a court order was issued to produce him in the court after it was found that he was allegedly behaving as usual despite the court's warnings.

Vishwa Buddhi, known for his controversial online presence, had posted videos on various social media platforms containing content deemed offensive to Buddhism.
