Tilvin Silva, the General Secretary of the National People's Power (NPP), declared today that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and various countries and organizations globally are acknowledging the likelihood of the NPP coming to power in the next election.
Addressing a news conference, Silva responded to concerns raised by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) regarding the NPP's recent meeting with IMF representatives.
He dismissed claims of secrecy, stating that the discussions focused on economic matters, particularly the impact of tax increases on the public.
Silva expressed confidence in the NPP's policies, emphasizing that the party has been transparent about its stance. He noted that the IMF engaged in discussions with the NPP because they recognized the party's potential ascent to power.
