In a special operation initiated based on intelligence from the State Intelligence Service, the Navy intercepted a local multiday fishing trawler and a one day fishing trawler in the Southern seas.
Suspected narcotics, believed to be heroin, were discovered during the operation, the Navy said.
They said the apprehended trawlers and suspects are currently en route to the port of Galle for further action.
