Acting Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Thennakoon sannounced the implementation of a new system for the transfer of officers in-charge of Police stations every three years, starting this year.
The IGP said that the reason behind this decision is to prevent officers from developing potentially compromising contacts while performing duties within the same police area for an extended period, thereby ensuring their ability to carry out duties independently.
