The Alliance of Health Trade Unions has declared the recommencement of their previously suspended health strike, slated to begin on February 1.
This decision follows a unanimous consensus reached during a special conference that convened representatives from 72 health services unions.
While the Ministry of Health had previously acknowledged the reasonableness of the economic justice proposal put forth for health staff, the strike was initially called off on the 17th as a gesture of cooperation, awaiting the President's intervention.
However, subsequent decisions by the Health Ministry were perceived as serious and unfair, leading to the unanimous decision during the leadership conference held today to resume the strike.
The health workers' leadership conference unanimously chose to protest against the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance, citing what they view as undue pressure on healthcare services.
