Court of Appeal restrains police from relocating 'Harak Kata'

The Court of Appeal issued an interim directive today, restraining the police from relocating or changing the current detention facility of Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, also known as "Harak Kata," without prior notification to the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.

Justice D.N. Samara of the Court of Appeal issued this order in response to a writ petition filed by Nelson Wickramaratne, who is the father of Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne.

Currently, Nadun Chinthaka, alias 'Harak Kata,' is held in CID custody based on a detention order issued under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act.

President’s Counsel Faiszer Musthapha, along with Counsel Pulasthi Rupasinha and Ridmi Beneragama, represented the petitioner in court.
