UNP nominates Ranil Wickremesinghe for presidential election

The United National Party (UNP) Management Committee has reached a decision to nominate the incumbent President, Ranil Wickremesinghe, as their candidate for the upcoming Presidential election scheduled for September this year. 

Sources suggest that President Wickremesinghe will be positioned as the national candidate during the campaign.

The UNP Management Committee, consisting of key figures such as Assistant Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, MP Vajira Abeywardene, Harin Fernando, and Ruwan Wijewardene, played a pivotal role in the decision-making process.
