The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken into custody Herath Kumara, the former Deputy Director of Health Services, regarding his alleged involvement in the substandard human immunoglobulin scandal.
The arrest transpired at the Health Ministry premises this afternoon (January 5).
Kumara is expected to be brought before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court later today, where the specifics of the charges against him will likely be detailed.
