Police announced that two teenage girls, aged 18 and 19, who had been missing since October 1 from the Mawathagama and Galagedara police divisions, were discovered in Uyanwatte, Matara, this morning.
The Mawathagama and Galagedara police stations launched investigations following a complaint about the girls' disappearance after they failed to return home from tuition classes on October 1, 2023.
The Matara police found the two girls this morning while they were en route to a shop where they were employed, coming from a boarding house in Uyanwatte, Matara.
The girls are set to be handed over to their parents after coordination with the Mawathagama and Galagedara police stations.
