A 29-year-old teacher, residing in Palledova area, Kitulle, has been arrested on suspicion of abusing three 9th-grade students in the school's laboratory.
The suspect, who is also the teacher in charge of class 9 and teaches science, was taken into police custody.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the teacher who is married, had a romantic relationship with one of the students, and through her, the other two students were also allegedly abused.
It has been revealed that the suspected teacher's wife is also a teacher.
Police said information obtained from the students indicates that one of them was coerced into providing nude photos of her body through WhatsApp.
The teacher's mobile phone has been seized for further investigation. The arrested teacher produced in Walapane Magistrate's Court. Meanwhile, the three schoolgirls involved have been admitted to Rikilagaskada General Hospital for a medical examination.
