The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Sri Lanka has taken into custody the former Health Ministry Secretary, Janaka Sri Chandragupta.
Reports suggest that Chandragupta was apprehended during the CID's interrogation, specifically while providing a statement in connection with the alleged importation of substandard Immunoglobulin injections.
This arrest is part of the ongoing investigations into the Immunoglobulin scandal.
Notably, various officials involved in the case, including the Director of the Medical Supplies Division, currently find themselves in remand custody as the authorities delve deeper into the matter.
