Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna announces new office bearers

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) revealed its latest office bearers in a recent executive committee meeting at the official residence of leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Notably, the position of national organizer was left vacant, with an expressed invitation for Basil Rajapaksa to consider assuming the role in the future, according to a party official.

MP Sagara Kariyawasam retained his role as General Secretary, while MP Pavitra Wanniarachchi assumed the responsibilities of the party’s new treasurer. The reappointment of Ven. Uthurawala Dammaratana Thera as the party chairman underscored continuity in key positions.

Furthermore , the SLPP introduced deputy national organizer positions, emphasizing inclusivity by expressing intentions to appoint individuals from the Tamil and Muslim communities to these roles in the near future.
