Colombo, Dec. 9 - The National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that parts of Colombo will face a water supply suspension for 16 hours starting tomorrow.
The interruption is necessary due to essential maintenance work planned under the Ambatale Water Supply System Improvements and Energy Saving Project.
The water cut will begin at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow and is expected to last until 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. Residents in the Colombo 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 areas will be affected by the temporary water shortage.
The NWSDB has advised affected residents to make necessary arrangements in advance to ensure they have an adequate supply of water during the suspension period.
They also assured that efforts will be made to complete the maintenance work as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience. The Ambatale Water Supply System Improvements and Energy Saving Project aims to enhance the water supply infrastructure in Colombo and implement energy-saving measures.
- The NWSDB has urged residents to cooperate with the project, as it will ultimately benefit the community by providing a more efficient and sustainable water supply system.
