Deadline for Expressions of Interest extended for SriLankan Airlines

In response to investor demands, the State Enterprises Restructuring Unit's Director General, Suresh Shah, announced that the deadline for submitting expressions of interest for Sri Lanka Telecom and SriLankan Airlines has been extended.
Originally set for December 18, the deadline for expressing interest in acquiring Sri Lanka Telecom has been pushed back to January 12, 2024.
This extension offers potential investors additional time to carefully consider their options and submit their proposals. Similarly, the deadline for expressing interest in acquiring SriLankan Airlines has been extended from December 05 to January 09, 2024.
This move aims to accommodate the requests of interested parties who require more time to finalize their proposals. The decision to extend the deadlines reflects the government's commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent process for the privatization of these significant state-owned enterprises.
