The Court of Appeal issued an order today instructing the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to promptly present Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, also known as "Harak Kata," before a Magistrate's Court.
The two-judge bench of the Court of Appeal, led by Justice Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and Justice Chamath Morais, emphasized that the available evidence presented to the court was insufficient to establish the commission of offenses by Nadun Chinthaka under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
The petitioner was represented by Senior Counsel Senany Dayaratne, along with Counsels Nishadi Wickramasinghe, Sanjaya Ariyadasa, Thiru Amirthalingam, and Achinika Fernando. Thushari Jayawardena provided instructions to the legal team representing the petitioner.
