The Japanese government has contributed a generous donation of 500 million yen worth of cutting-edge medical equipment to the Sri Jayawardenepura General Hospital, towards combating non-communicable diseases (NCD) and curbing associated fatalities in Sri Lanka
Accordingly, medical equipment worth a total of 49 million yen is set to be received in first phase.
The official handover ceremony took place today (6), under the patronage of Minister of Health and Industry, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, and Ambassador of the Republic of Japan, Mizukoshi Hideaki.
As part of the first phase, essential modification equipment for the Angio-CT machine, including Radiology Equipment (Angio-CT Machine) and Surgical Instrument sets, have been delivered.
Furthermore, the donation encompasses ophthalmic equipment, featuring an Automated Refractometer and Three Slit Lamp. Notably, the Intensive Care Unit received three beds, along with one recovery bed, enhancing the hospital's critical care capabilities.
