The issuing of the digital birth certificate programme was held at the Kalutara District Secretariat.
State Minister Ashoka Priyantha said that the digital birth certificate national programme which was launched in Kalutara will be expanded to other districts soon. State Minister further added that the number contained on the digital national birth certificate will also be utilized by converting it as the National Identity Card number as per the international standard and practice through digital technology.
