Ragama Medical Faculty students, comprising 180 individuals, were stranded in the Hantana mountains due to adverse weather conditions.
A joint effort by the army and the police successfully rescued the group, consisting of 60 males and 120 females, after a six-hour operation.
Police said the students encountered difficulties returning due to heavy fog after their climb yesterday afternoon.
