In a much-anticipated announcement, the minimum Z-scores for university admissions for the academic year 2022/2023 have been officially disclosed following the 2022 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Speaking at a media briefing on December 1st, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, shared that out of the 274,304 students who took the examination, an impressive 166,967 have met the necessary criteria for university admission.
The results of the 2022/2023 A/L exams were initially made available online on September 4th, with re-scrutinized results released on November 24th. The examination witnessed a significant participation of 232,797 school applicants and 31,136 private applicants. Notably, 149,487 school applicants and 17,451 private applicants have successfully qualified for admission into universities.
