After over two centuries abroad, six stolen Sri Lankan artefacts have been repatriated from the Netherlands.
Minister Vidura Wickremanayake accepted the artefacts at BIA this morning, and they will be publicly displayed at the National Museum in Colombo starting from December 5.
The repatriation follows a state visit in August, during which Dutch State Secretary Gunay Uslu formally transferred ownership of the artefacts stolen by the Dutch.
The event aims to educate the public on the shared history of Sri Lanka and the Netherlands, featuring public lectures, guided tours, a panel discussion, food stalls, and educational activities for children.
