While expressing concern about his safety, Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe said that he feels at risk of harm and that the responsibility for any untoward incident lies with the Executive.

"I might be killed today, maybe tomorrow, and I would say that the executive will have to accept responsibility in such an eventuality," the Minister asserted.

He also singled out Presidential advisor Sagala Ratnayake, questioning the security arrangements, stating, "A motorcade is provided to Sagala to ensure his security. However, no security is provided for me, being a cabinet minister."

The Minister further claimed that MP Namal Rajapaksa has warned him of potential danger, alleging that President Wickremesinghe is like a snake and may seek revenge.

However, MP Rajapaksa denied the claim, emphasizing that parliamentary privileges should not be misused, and suggested changes to standing orders to prevent MPs from making such statements. In response, the Minister mentioned that the message was conveyed to him by MP Rajapaksa through a third party.
