Sri Lankan para athletes return home with glory

The Sri Lankan para athlete contingent that won several medals at the 4th Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China returned home amidst a rousing welcome at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA)
SL Army’s Warrant Officer II K.A. Samitha Dulan of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) won the silver medal in the javelin throw (F-44) while Sergeant H.G. Palitha Bandara of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) secured the bronze medal in the men’s discus throw event (F-63), Army media sources state.
State Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Hon. Rohana Dissanayake MP and senior Army officers were present at the BIA to welcome Sri Lankan para athletes, it says.
Meanwhile Sri Lanka Navy’s Leading Seaman SMASM Subasinghe who won a bronze medal in the men’s 400 meters event (T47) at the para games also arrived home on the same day, states navy media.
