During a police operation led by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) near D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha in Colombo, shots were fired as part of efforts to apprehend two individuals.
The PNB reported that their officers, traveling on a three-wheeler, arrested two suspects who had arrived in a car to collect a suspicious package. The operation was executed to detain individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking.
There were no reported injuries resulting from the gunfire.
