State Minister Diana Gamage has been hospitalized at Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital, alleging that she was assaulted by a member of the SJB party outside the parliamentary chamber.
Gamage lodged a formal complaint with Welikada Police before her admission to the hospital, revealing the allegations during a parliamentary session the previous day.
According to Gamage, she was reportedly attacked by SJB MP Sujith Sanjaya Perera outside the parliamentary chamber.
She is now demanding a comprehensive investigation into the incident, highlighting concerns regarding safety and decorum within the parliamentary premises.
