A derailment between Diyatalawa and Haputale railway stations has resulted in disruptions and delays for an express train traveling from Badulla to Colombo Fort.
The incident took place at approximately 12.15 p.m. today (16), as confirmed by a senior official from the Railway Department.
Due to the derailment, there is a possibility of traffic disruptions along the upland road for the remainder of the day, cautioned the official.
