Train services on the up-country line have been severely disrupted today due to a fallen tree, according to Sri Lanka Railways.
The incident occurred between Watawala and Galabada Railway Stations this afternoon (15).
The fallen tree has obstructed the tracks, causing delays and cancellations for several trains.
One of the affected trains is the popular "Udarata Menike" train, which runs from Colombo Fort to Badulla. It has been forced to come to a halt at the Galabada Railway Station.
Authorities from Sri Lanka Railways are currently working to remove the fallen tree and clear the tracks.
Passengers are advised to check for updates from Sri Lanka Railways regarding the resumption of train services on the up-country line.
