Two Sri Lankan women, who allegedly attempted to enter Israel illegally from Jordan, were apprehended by Israeli security forces this morning.
According to the Sri Lankan ambassador in Israel, Nimal Bandara, the Israeli authorities had promptly informed the embassy about the incident.
The women's identities are yet to be established, and further information will be obtained from the authorities by tomorrow to determine the next steps, the ambassador added.
In light of the ongoing conflict with the Hamas group, Ambassador Bandara issued a warning to Sri Lankans planning to enter Israel illegally from the borders.
