The government has signed an agreement with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop agriculture in Sri Lanka using digital technology.
It has been decided to introduce a software using digital technology to increase productivity and nutrition in the agricultural sector.
In order to develop the agriculture industry, relevant data will be obtained from seven ministries and this program will be continued.
The new software will provide the necessary guidance to the farmers to directly obtain the yield from the use of fertilizers and to preserve the obtained yield.
A grant of 250 million dollars is received from this project for the development of agriculture in this country and the primary objective of the project is to collect data in the agricultural sector to increase the nutrition of rice and other crops.
