As the dispute over appointing a new IGP intensifies, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has granted a three-week extension to C.D. Wickramaratne as the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
This extension follows the expiration of his previous three-month extension on October 09.
Wickramaratne's tenure as IGP ended on June 26 of this year, after a series of extensions.
