Four officers from the Police Special Task Force, who were on duty at the location where an earth mound collapsed on the Southern Expressway, have been injured and hospitalized due to an earthslip.
The Chairman of the Road Development Authority said that the mountains on both sides of the road, particularly near the 102nd kilometer post between Pinnaduwa and Imaduwa, have collapsed.
Accordingly, he urged residents living in hilly areas to quickly relocate to safer locations and exercise extreme caution due to further earthslips.
