A major traffic congestion was reported in the Town Hall area as Deans Road came to a standstill due to a protest organized by doctors.

The demonstration, held opposite the Health Ministry, was led by the Medical Officers' Association, who aimed to draw attention to the ongoing issues plaguing the Sri Lankan health sector.

The doctors accuse health authorities of turning a blind eye to the challenges faced by the country's healthcare system. The Medical Officers' Association claims that their concerns have been ignored, leading them to take to the streets in a bid to raise awareness and demand action
