India's External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, has arrived in Sri Lanka on the evening of the 10th to participate in the 23rd Council of Ministers’ meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), which Sri Lanka is hosting from Wednesday, the 11th.
Upon his arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, Dr. Jaishankar received a warm welcome from Sri Lanka’s State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. Suren Raghavan, and the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Gopal Baglay.
Expressing his gratitude, Jaishankar shared his sentiments on social media, saying, "Glad to be back in Colombo. Thank Dr. Suren Raghavan, State Minister for Higher Education, for welcoming me."
Jaishankar emphasized his participation in the 23rd IORA Council of Ministers’ meeting and highlighted the ongoing progress in the India-Sri Lanka relationship.
This visit marks Jaishankar’s second trip to Sri Lanka this year, following Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe's visit to India in July, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
In addition to his involvement in IORA activities, Jaishankar is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings in Colombo, as reported by Indian media.
