President Ranil Wickremesinghe has given instructions to create a temporary accessway at the Bambalapitiya railway station within 10 days.
The current pedestrian flyover will be removed to make way for this temporary solution. Additionally, the President has also ordered the construction of a new overhead pedestrian bridge within 5 months.
The State Development and Construction Corporation will be responsible for carrying out this project, with the Road Development Authority overseeing the process.
