In a move to support the families affected by the tragic accident in Kollupitiya, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed the Ministry of Transport and the Sri Lanka Transport Board to provide a significant financial assistance of Rs. 500,000.

The directive, issued by the President's Secretary Saman Ekanayaka, aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by the victims' families in the wake of this devastating incident.

The accident, which occurred earlier today, has left several families reeling from the loss of their loved ones.

The Ministry of Transport and the Sri Lanka Transport Board will work swiftly to ensure the prompt disbursement of the financial assistance to the affected families.

While nothing can truly compensate for the loss of human life, this financial aid will undoubtedly provide some much-needed support and assistance to the families as they begin to rebuild their lives.

As investigations into the accident continue, the government's focus remains on providing the necessary support to the affected families
