A total of 25,863 individuals from 6,250 families across ten districts have been affected owing to the inclement weather, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC),

The DMC's situation report reveals that 453 houses have been partially damaged, while two houses have been completely destroyed. 

The districts most impacted by heavy rain, floods, fallen trees, power outages, and strong winds include Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kalutara, Gampaha, Matara, Galle, Nuwara-Eliya, Puttalam, Kurunegala, and Jaffna. 

In response to the situation, 124 people from 31 families in the Gampaha district have been relocated to three safe locations. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported thus far. 

Moreover, the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre has issued a warning for heavy rain exceeding 100 mm in the Southern Province, as well as in the Kalutara and Ratnapura Districts.

Meanwhile, the ongoing showery conditions in the southwestern part of the island, caused by the active southwest monsoon, are expected to continue.
