A police sergeant affiliated with the Minister's Security Division (MSD) and three other individuals were arrested while transporting three parcels of ganja in a three-wheeler in Okkampitiya town.
Police said that the detained police sergeant served as a security officer for a member of parliament.
The operation leading to the arrests was initiated based on information provided by an officer from the Monaragala Divisional Intelligence Division. During the operation, the police sergeant and the three accompanying individuals were taken into custody, along with the seized ganja.
