After questioning the detained underworld criminal Ganemulla Sanjeewa, Police have uncovered a cache of hand grenades, firearms, and live ammunition concealed within a public cemetery in the Maimbula area.
According to the police, the recovered items include a micro pistol, a revolver, 2 hand grenades, and 43 bullets of foreign manufacture.
Approximately two weeks ago, officers from the Western (North) Crime Division discovered a T 56 automatic firearm and a stockpile of live ammunition concealed beneath a culvert in the Kaduwela area. This discovery was made based on information obtained during the interrogation of Ganemulla Sanjeewa.
Ganemulla Sanjeewa is currently undergoing intensive questioning by multiple special police teams.
