Muthuhettigama granted bail
Former Member of Parliament Nishantha Muthuhettigama who is in remanded custody has been granted bail by the Galle Chief Magistrate.
The former Deputy Minister was remanded following his arrest on charges of illegally assembling a jeep.
A case was filed against him over the possession of a vehicle assembled with illegally imported vehicle spare parts, and a fake number plate.
The vehicle was seized by the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit on October 30, 2022.
He has been granted bail on two sureties of Rs. 5 million each and a cash surety of Rs.50,000.
